Brock Powell

In the high-fructose cereal fueled Saturday Mornings of the mid-90’s, if you had told a certain 8-year-old growing up in Nevada that there was an animated borough in LA called Toontown, where anvils fell and cartoon stars dwelled, little Brock Powell would have believed you! Bigger than any movie star was the 2 and 3-dimensional heroes of cartoons and beyond. There in fully realized technicolor any problem could be solved with a song, a one-line gag or even a portable black hole or two.

Fast forward a decade and a half, Brock Powell came crashing onto the scene of animation with proverbial guns ablazing. As one of the latest to lend an iconic voice to the Kool-Aid Man, Brock quickly added main roles in AAA video game titles, expanded their resume with several major commercial campaigns and eventually became a sought-after utility voice actor in the world of animation.

Whether it’s making a one-line role into a veritable meal, or breathing life into several unique characters bickering with themselves all at once, Brock is often entrusted with originating and creating several character voices within a single project over a variety of styles of storytelling and for many different audiences. Behind the mic and beyond, Brock unleashes an arsenal of highly developed acting skills that have proven to be valuable assets while working in animation including: classical and contemporary theatre training (Meisner? Meisner. Meisner!) specialty improv training at Second City LV with coach Jason Sudeikis, live sketch experience onstage at Second City Hollywood and years (and we do mean years) of stand up in and around the Las Vegas area including opening for the late Louie Anderson.

Recent notable roles include: The Great Hogg for “Minecraft Legends,” Dr. Not Sorry of “Milo Murphy’s Law” and the expanded Phineas and Ferb Universe. For parents of young fans, Brock is most recognizable as the current voice of Neptune the Turtle and Earl the Elephant for the 2020 reimagining of the Baby Einstein series and interactive toy-line, as well as the voice of Willie the Giant, Sneezel the Weasel, and Teddy the Doghouse on Disney Jr’s “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” (now airing it’s highly anticipated third season.) Christmas fans of holiday magic will know Brock’s iconic “Ho-ho-ho” as the voice of Disney’s Santa Claus for their recent series of stop motion specials that have become a true seasonal delight!

As the world of animation continues to expand and strive towards authentic casting and storytelling, as a non-binary artist and neurodivergent actor, it is Brock’s sincere hope that by voicing the next generation of iconic characters, they can inspire, encourage, and create a new batch of Saturday Morning cartoon memories for a whole new slew of childhoods.
