David Cooley
My small childhood town of Northampton, Massachusetts had not one but three single house movie theaters. A town known for creativity in art, music, theater, and a huge appreciation for film, I grew up roaming the woods and the theaters, imitating the animals and the film actors like Jimmy Cagney, John Wayne and Peter Lorre.
My path from student at Syracuse University for Drama then LAMDA, then NYC with the masters in Meisner led to my professional on camera and voice acting career in Los Angeles.
Utilizing the skills of mimicking the great actors from my childhood movie going, I have found success in voice matching for movies and television, including John Malkovich, John Travolta, Vin Diesel, Robert DeNiro, and Bruce Willis. I have found much success in video game work, both motion capture and voiceover. I’m proud of my work in Tom Clancy’s: Ghost Recon, Saints Row, Final Fantasy, Horizon Zero Dawn, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Last of Us Part II. The character range that these titles have allowed me to use, from beastly creatures howling bloody murder, soldiers on and off the battlefield, to calm reassuring fathers, is both satisfying and rewarding as an actor.
I find the collaboration and joy of creativity in voice work unlike any other genre in our industry.
