Kether Donohue

A proud native New Yorker and called “the funniest woman on TV” by GQ and “the unstoppable Kether Donohue” by Variety, Donohue has received critical acclaim for her fearless performances in film, television and theatre.

Donohue is perhaps most well-known for her scene-stealing role as Lindsay Jillian on the critically acclaimed FXX comedy series You’re the Worst, which she starred on for five seasons and earned a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Donohue also brought to life the role of Jan in Fox’s live Emmy-winning musical presentation of Grease Live. Currently, Donohue can be seen starring in Chuck Lorre’s new CBS comedy series B Positive.

B Positive is Donohue’s third time working with James Burrows following another series regular role in the CBS multi-camera pilot, Open Books, starring Laura Benanti, and a lead role in another multi-camera pilot created by Suzanne Martin, Like Family, opposite Brandon Mychal Smith for NBC. Additionally, she recently starred opposite Darren Criss in the Quibi musical comedy series Royalties. The show follows the ascent of a ragtag songwriting duo – Sara (Donohue) and Pierce (Criss) – as they navigate the strange and hilarious challenges of creating a truly great song, week after week.

Donohue previously starred in Barry Levinson’s sci-fi thriller, The Bay, which premiered at Toronto Film Festival. She’s also played sharp-tongued Alice in Pitch Perfect and Lizzy in the emotional crime drama, Boy Wonder. Additionally, Donohue has made guest star and recurring appearances on You, The Guest Book, Champions, LA to Vegas, The Carrie Diaries, Royal Pains, The Mindy Project, Ringer, Perfect Couples, I Just Want My Pants Back, and Hope & Faith.

Donohue is also an accomplished voice-over artist, currently recurring as Flo in Disney’s hit series Elena of Avalor and voicing series regular role, Gillian in Birdgirl, a spinoff of Adult Swim’s hit series Harvey Birdman. Her previous animation credits include recurring on Dreamworks Animation Television’s All Hail King Julien, and voicing on FOX’s American Dad, Cartoon Network’s The Fungies, CBS’ Star Trek Lower Decks, and Nickelodeon’s Sunny Day.

A graduate of Fordham University with a concentration in Film, Donohue has also co-produced several films that she’s also starred in including Over the GW, which premiered at Slamdance Film Festival.

Donohue made her off-Broadway debut at Ensemble Studio Theatre with a lead role in Taylor Mac’s, Okay, followed by starring in Kate McGovern’s Blue Before Morning.
